Park Garden of Nations is one of the fantastic sites in Torrevieja. The park has 35,000 square meters and is one of the largest green areas we can see in Torrevieja.There are many green areas in the Park of Gardens of Nations. One of the main attractions is the artificial lake. We can meet many species of birds there, such as ducks, chickens, roosters, sparrows and pigeons. It is the perfect park for your children, because in addition to so many interesting animals, Parque de las Naciones also has a playground. Children can play there, and you can relax, enjoying the peace and the birds singing. The Garden of Nations Park is one of those places in Torrevieja that you cannot miss when visiting the Costa Blanca.
Tabarca
Tabarca is a small island in the Mediterranean Sea, covering only (0,3 km2). Its maximum length is 1,800 metres, its width is 380 metres, and its highest point reaches just 15 metres above sea level. The island is divided by a narrow isthmus.
The eastern part of Tabarca is uninhabited and features a lighthouse, a cemetery, the ruins of a fort, and sand dunes. In contrast, the western part is inhabited and includes a church, a market square, and beautifully preserved fishing architecture.
The island is famous for its crystal-clear waters and has been protected as a marine nature reserve. Tabarca is also known for its rocky coastline and its small, intimate beaches.
At the heart of the island lies a small town with narrow streets, whitewashed houses, and historic 18th-century defensive walls. Walking around Tabarca, visitors can truly experience the authentic Mediterranean atmosphere.
It is an ideal destination for a one-day trip. Ferries run from Alicante or Santa Pola, and the journey takes about 20–30 minutes.
Dunes
Directly by the beach, there are natural dunes that are part of the protected area Parque Natural de las Lagunas de La Mata y Torrevieja. This unique nature park includes salt lakes (lagoons), dunes, and Mediterranean vegetation.
The dunes protect the coastline from erosion and serve as a habitat for many species of plants and birds. Access to them is partially restricted. Thanks to specially built wooden walkways, visitors can admire this landscape without disturbing nature.
La Mata is the perfect combination – a wide beach with a long promenade, natural dunes, and a protected nature park create a place that enchants with its Mediterranean climate.
Saint Barbara's Castle in Alicante.
Saint Barbara's Castle in Alicante (Castillo de Santa Bárbara) towers over the city of Alicante on the rocky Benacantil hill. It is one of the largest and most important medieval fortresses in Spain. Its location right by the sea has always given it great strategic significance.
The castle's greatest development occurred in the 16th century. Today, it is one of the city's most important symbols. Puerto de Alicante and the Mediterranean coastline are visible from almost the entire castle. From the top, you can see the panorama of the entire Alicante bay, the port with its marina and promenade, Postiguet beach at the foot of the castle, and the open waters of the Mediterranean Sea stretching to the horizon.
Laguna Salada de Torrevieja
One of the most interesting and popular attractions near Eldorado Apartment La Mata is the pink lake. The pink lake is located in the city of Torrevieja in Spain. Beside the pink lake there is also another lake but it isn’t pink. Together they form a nature reserve called Las Salinas. The colour pink of the lake comes from the unnatural ingredients that are present in it. It’s actually the work of bacteria and algae. Despite its funky colour, the water is perfectly fine to swim in. The city of Torrevieja relies on their salt lakes as most of the Spanish salt industry is located there since the 19 century. The lake also acts like a natural spa. Tourists often are interested in the procedures that can be done using the water and minerals from the lake. Flamingos are also frequent visitors of the lake. They eat the algae filled shrimp that lives in the lake. The pink lake is one of the most popular attractions in Torrevieja and everyone should visit the magnificent place.

La Torre de Moro Torrevieja
The next close attraction to Eldorado Apartment La Mata is La Torre del Moro. It is a medieval watchtower build by the Spanish to protect the east coast of Spain from Berber pirates that came from the north coast of Africa. Over the years it had been damaged and renovated but now it’s one of the best attractions in La Mata.
